NEW KAR PILATES INSTRUCTOR- JEAN K! 🥳🥳🥳 Jean is a Comprehensive Pilates Instructor and Integrated Movement Specialist with over 550 hours of training on all of the Pilates equipment through Balanced Body. She is also a TRX qualified instructor, with a focus on training functional movement and Pilates using the suspension trainer. Jean found Pilates as a distance runner and discovered its transformative power to balance, strengthen and mobilize the body. She believes that Pilates is not only a natural complement to athletics, but also a basis for the movements of daily life. Jean combines extensive teaching experience with a love of Pilates to create a safe and joyful experience for people of all ages and abilities. By the end of that first class, Joy knew Pilates would be a lifelong passion. In 2017, Joy completed a 600 hour mat and apparatus certification program from The Fitness Guru of New York City. Joy has been lucky enough to have trained under one of the only 2nd generation master Pilates instructors in Fairfield County. With this wealth of knowledge and experience, Joy has learned that the key to an effective Pilates workout begins and ends with proper form. NEW KAR LOGO: What’s behind the design?? 🖤 I know most Pilates studios and logos have soft flowing lines and easy-going contours but to me, Pilates is all about FORM. The sharp edges and straight lines make me think of striving for perfect form in each movement, total body alignment, structure, balance and control….all huge parts of the Pilates Method 🖤 I chose the box around the letters as it symbolizes a Pilates mat and/or reformer imprint. Now you see it, right?!?! 🖤 I chose a “K” with a long leg because: 1. It looks cooler lol 2. It reminds me of where I’ve come from, who I’ve become and that, if I dig deep, I can accomplish anything I put my mind to.
